Salvador Dalí was an internationally renowned artist who excelled in all art mediums with which he created. Most famous for his melting watches painting called Persistence of Memory, Dalí set a standard for art in the Twentieth Century. With 95 originals, over 100 watercolors and drawings, nearly 1,300 graphics, plus sculptures, objets d'art, photographs, documents and extensive archival library, the Salvador Dalí Museum in St. Petersburg contains the largest Dalí collection in the world. In this panoramic, you'll see to one side, numerous "Masterworks," the large paintings in the lower gallery, and select pieces from the permanent exhibit in the upper gallery. The Dalí Museum often has visiting exhibits and pieces. The sculptures you see are part of a Forms of Cubism exhibit and the infamous Persistence of Memory pieces can be seen hanging on the less-lit wall of the upper gallery, facing the lower gallery. There's a few people viewing the painting, including a man in blue shirt and woman with pink pants.
