This is an intermediate construction shot of the new Raymond James Stadium. On opening day, Sept. 20, 1998, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers christened the stadium against the Chicago Bears. Previously, the Bucs had played in Houlihan's Stadium, formerly known as Tampa Stadium, which you can see in the background as you pan around. It was later demolished. The new stadium will seats 65,000 vs. 74,000 in the old one. It is named for a St. Petersburg-based brokerage, Raymond James Financial.
