Each year, the pirate ship "Jose Gaspar" sails into downtown Tampa, blasting away with pistol and cannon, surrounded by a flotilla of dozens of boats. Once the captain and Krewe "seize" the city, they parade up Bayshore, sharing their wealth of trinkets and necklaces with the crowd along the parade route.
